Coaching Philosophy
Core Volleyball Club is a Gold Medal Squared Certified Club
All Core Coaches will be offered training and certification through the Gold Medal Squared Program. Core Volleyball Club is dedicated to the improvement of student athletes at the amazing game of volleyball. We use Gold Medal Squared and USA Volleyball coaching techniques to improve your daughter’s skills and make sure that when she leaves our program, she will be an all-around player with a high volleyball IQ.
Again we want to prepare your daughter for the next level, no matter if it is just preparing to make her middle school team, or if it is choosing which Division 1 school to continue her academic and volleyball career. At the younger age groups we focus on the volleyball fundamentals, as well as teamwork. As your daughter continues to grow through our program she will learn essential footwork, arm-swing techniques, as well as higher level game strategies. Here at Core, we are committed to ensuring that your daughter has a great experience, gains the knowledge of the game she needs to compete at a high level, and has teammates that will become lifelong friends. Core Volleyball Club is about positive coaching through prompting coaching methods.
Below is additional information about Gold Medal Squared. Not all clubs are Gold Medal Squared certified. You can check your club’s certification by going to Gold Medal Squared Certification.
Gold Medal Squared is the collaborative effort of four of the most successful and experienced coaches in the history of volleyball in the United States. Dr. Carl McGown, Dr. Marv Dunphy, Dr. Doug Beal, and Jim McLaughlin bring over 100 years of combined experience and have been at the top of the game at every level: High School, Club, Collegiate, Professional Foreign Leagues, and International competition. Through years of refinement, we have developed a unique system where coaches are given the necessary tools to teach the skills of volleyball to their players, to understand the tactics of the game, to make better use of limited time with their players, and to develop winning programs. This system is based on studied scientific principles from human kinetics, organizational behavior, statistics, and psychology.
