This board has been chosen based on each individuals extensive volleyball or business experience. This board will be used as a visionary board that will take Core Volleyball Club to the upper echelon of club programs.
For the 2015 Season the Board of Directors consist of Prima Elam , Jack Cowden, Derek Fox, Nevan Elam, and Todd Baham[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section][et_pb_section fullwidth=”off” specialty=”off”][et_pb_row][et_pb_column type=”4_4″][et_pb_team_member admin_label=”Team Member” name=”Jack Cowden” animation=”top” background_layout=”light” image_url=”/wp-content/uploads/2007/10/1504144_651220871580298_1624202122_n.jpg” position=”Director of College Bound Athletes “]Jack Cowden has been involved with men and women’s youth sports for decades and was an NCAA athlete. He has more than 25 years of coaching experience. Over the years, he has coached multiple sports at all levels and ages. Presently, he assists many athletes in reaching their goal of “playing at the next level”.
Jack is presently the first assistant at Dominican College in San Rafael, a division two NCAA four year program.
For the past 12 years Jack has focused his athletic associations with women’s volleyball. Previously he worked with Foothill college as the 1st assistant for 4 years helping the program to conference titles in 2009, 2010, 2011 and “sweet sixteen appearances in the state championships for 2009 and 2010..
In 2012, he assisted in the start up of the national women’s professional league (PVL) through the NCVA in conjunction with USA volleyball. In 2013, as head coach, he took the women’s team to a “final four” appearance in the national championship in Louisville, Kentucky.
Jack is trained in the Gold Medal Squared System and certified by USA volleyball as a CAP lll level coach. Jack has been the head coach for elite athletes in youth volleyball at the club level for over ten years. He has coached for four years in the NCVA regional girl’s High Performance program. As a veteran to volleyball, Jack brings a great understanding of the “trinity of coaching” (the balance of mind, body and spirit) and has great ability to incorporate sports with life skill lessons. His long term experience with athletes and knowledge of the game is invaluable in teaching and coaching volleyball.[/et_pb_team_member][et_pb_team_member admin_label=”Team Member” name=”Prima Elam” animation=”top” background_layout=”light” image_url=”/wp-content/uploads/2008/11/486345_10200822032614798_72772761_n1.jpg” position=”Club Director “]Prima Elam has 18 years of coaching experience ranging from high school, club and college. Combine that with over 20 years of playing experience, and Prima has been involved in volleyball almost her entire life. Her playing experience includes Sacramento City College. As a member of the Sacramento City College team, she played opposite and helped the team finish 4th in the State of California. Prima then went on to finish her playing and academic career at Cal State Hayward. Prima Elam spent two years as the First Assistant at Menlo College in Atherton, CA. Prima has been involved in the Regional High Performance Program since 2007. This past summer she was selected to be a USA High Performance Volleyball Camp Coach. Prima also represented the Northern California Region as the Head Coach of the Boys Regional High Performance Team. The team competed at the USA Volleyball High Performance Championships where they earned back to back silver medals. Eight years ago she founded Core Volleyball Club and in the first year the club had six teams and currently the club has sixteen teams. Prior to Core, she was the Club Director for California Volleyball Academy and assisted in developing California Volleyball Academy from a start up club its first year only offering camps and clinics to six teams its second season and CVA finished with eight teams in the third year. Prima was the first assistant at Diablo Valley College in 2006. Prima has also spent five years as Chairman of the Board/ Board Member for Renegades Boys Volleyball Club. Prima was the Setting/Defensive coach at Skyline College in San Bruno, and she also coached the Renegades 18-Prima Boys that finished in Silver, and competed in at the USA Volleyball Junior Nationals. In 2010 she was the assistant for 18-1 Boys Team, which finished 11th in Gold, and 4th at Far Westerns . Prima’s certifications include USA CAP II, Gold Medal Squared, Impact, Positive Coaching Alliance, and Champions of Character (NAIA).[/et_pb_team_member][et_pb_team_member admin_label=”Team Member” name=”Nevan Elam” animation=”top” background_layout=”light” position=”Chairman of the Board “]Nevan Elam, is the Senior Vice President Corporate Operations, General Counsel and Secretary for Nektar Therapeutics. Previously, Mr. Elam was Chief Financial Officer and one of the founding executives of E2open, Inc., a software corporation with operations in six countries. Before serving as CFO of E2open, Mr. Elam was E2open’s Vice President of Corporate and Business Development and General Counsel. Prior to his management roles at E2open, Mr. Elam was a corporate Partner in the firm Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, where he represented emerging growth companies in a variety of industries, including the life sciences, software and hardware. Mr. Elam advised clients on a wide range of matters from incorporation to securities filings and compliance to mergers and acquisitions. In addition, Mr. Elam maintained a significant international practice where he handled strategic transactions for corporations all over the world.

Derek Fox is the Marketing Director of Core Volleyball Club and PressSavvy.com. With 11 years of advertising & marketing experience and 17 years of completive sports experience, Derek has been involved in sports and marketing almost his entire lifetime. Derek understand what it takes to get the point across clearly and effectively to any and all age groups. His excitement, motivation and ideas set him apart, above and beyond the rest. He has successfully ran numerous fundraisers and sponsorship opportunities banking hundreds of thousands for non-profits and businesses alike. He has work with Jack in the Box, Wrangle, IMG Sports, Curves, and not to mention the endless small to medium size business. Big or small, Derek will bring the Core Volleyball Club marketing to next level insuring the a solid branding for the future.
