This will be Prima’s fourth year coaching for Core. Prima Elam is in her second year as the First Assistant at Menlo College in Atherton, CA. Prima Elam has 17 years of coaching experience ranging from high school, club and college. Combine that with over 20 years of playing experience, and Prima has been involved in volleyball almost her entire life. Her playing experience includes Sacramento City College. As a member of the Sacramento City College team, she played opposite and helped the team finish 4th in the State of California. Prima then went on to finish her playing and academic career at Cal State Hayward. Prima has been involved in the Regional High Performance Program since 2007. This past summer she was selected to be a USA High Performance Volleyball Camp Coach. Prima also represented the Northern California Region as the Head Coach of the Boys Regional Team. The team competed at the USA Volleyball High Performance Championships where they earned a silver medal. Six years ago she founded Core Volleyball Club and in the first year the club had six teams and currently the club has ten teams. Prior to Core, she was the Club Director for California Volleyball Academy and assisted in developing California Volleyball Academy from a start up club its first year only offering camps and clinics to six teams its second season and CVA finished with eight teams in the third year. Prima was the first assistant at Diablo Valley College in 2006. Prima has also spent the last five years as Chairman of the Board/ Board Member for Renegades Boys Volleyball Club. Prima was the Setting/Defensive coach at Skyline College in San Bruno, and she also coached the Renegades 18-Prima Boys that finished in Silver, and competed in at the USA Volleyball Junior Nationals. In 2010 she was the assistant for 18-Wutang Boys Team, which finished 11th in Gold, and 4th at Far Westerns . Prima’s certifications include Gold Medal Squared, Impact, Positive Coaching Alliance, and Champions of Character (NAIA).
